Meet Jack Buttram

- Jack's Broad Experience in Public Affairs -

Jack Buttram went to Washington in 1964 to work in the media relations task force of the Goldwater for President Campaign and stayed on that assignment through the Republican Convention in the Cow Palace that July. Later that year he joined the staff of the Republican National Committee as Deputy Director on the Media Relations staff -- and the following year began working as Sen. Strom Thurmond's Press Secretary on Capitol Hill

Work with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Sen. Paul Fannin of Arizona, and other senators in their re-election campaigns has given him a wide experience in politics and public affairs. He honed additional skills with Hill & Knowlton Public Relations Counselors, the American Enterprise Institute, American Association of Christian Schools and private clients -- culminating in a position as Chief of Staff for President Nixon's White House Counsel for youth, ladies and Hispanic affairs Anne Armstrong who later became America's Ambassador to Great Britain.

This broad range of experience was put to the test by leading America's Friends of Free China (Taiwan) friendship organization (100 local chapters) for twenty five years through the unsuccessful attempt of President Carter to turn over the Chinese embassy properties to Beijing. To this day they remain under the control of entities friendly to the original Chinese government.

Now, from a more distant perspective, he remains in contact with issues on the public scene and comments through a unique broadcast program "Just a Minute" -- a one minute take on current affairs and political events described from a Biblical perspective.
